The outer layer is a Tanboocel® Bamboo Viscose and cotton muslin woven into an open weave, layered over an ultra-absorbent cotton terry backing, so the towel feels like a swaddle against the skin while the terry underneath does the actual drying.
A baby loses heat fastest from the head and neck, so the hood isn't a decorative add-on; it's sized with real depth to cover a newborn's head now and a wriggling toddler's later. Corner hand pockets built into the design give you an actual grip for the post-bath rubdown, rather than a loose towel sliding around while you try to dry a squirming baby. A matching washcloth handles faces and smaller cleanups on its own.
